Senior Pastor Sparky Clancy, wife Myndii, and Family

Sparky Clancy grew up farming in southern Idaho. Having heard the Gospel through a youth outreach group, he placed his faith in Jesus at age eight. He went on to attend Bible College to then serve in the local church as a youth leader, Bible teacher, and preached in various churches.  The Lord called him to the Democratic Republic of Congo where he worked for over a decade reinforcing churches with discipleship training and leadership development. Returning to Idaho due to political issues in Congo, he was called to serve as pastor with Notus Baptist Church. He continues to be passionate about church revitalization and the development of future ministry leaders.

Pastor Walker Horton, wife Naomi, and Family

Walker grew up on the mission field in the Philippines and has been pursuing ministry with his wife, Naomi, for over two years now. Walker and Naomi have two sons: Azariah and an unborn son due in March 2025.

Naomi is a wonderful wife and mother, helpmeet, and is someone who loves the Lord deeply.  She is  a great encouragement to Walker and he is very thankful for the way she challenges and holds him accountable with in his walk with the Lord.

Azariah is an extraverted little toddler who loves to be around people and despises being alone, just like his parents! He really enjoys rough-housing with dad and loves snuggles with mom.

Walker and Naomi are committed to discipling, training, and bringing their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4; Proverbs 22:6).

The Hortons first came to Notus Baptist Church as interns with the goal of developing their missiology and doctrine, as well as learning what it takes to become Biblical and Godly missionaries. The internship was a great learning experience, particularly in the experiential and practical application of ministry.  Walker was brought on as the Outreach and Youth Pastor in January of 2025. His responsibilities include: local and community outreach engagement and relationship building; oversight of the Outreach Council of the church; engagement in missions by staying up-to-date with missionaries supported by the church and communicating missionaries news, updates, and prayer needs to the church.  Walker is also working on starting and developing a youth program focused on the discipleship and growth of the youth in the church and in the community.  He also aspires to lead the church in outreach and evangelism-based growth and ministry. Walker is excited about this role and the ways he will get to both serve and grow in it. Lord willing, his desire is to lead the church in developing an outreach and evangelistic mindset committed to sharing the Gospel with the lost and discipling new believers into mature spiritual leaders.

Walker and Naomi seek to be faithful with the responsibilities and opportunities that the Lord brings their way and are excited about where He is leading them. As a family, they will continue to pursue missions, but are thankful for this time at Notus Baptist Church during which they are able to serve, learn, and grow to become better equipped for a lifetime of service to God.
